Who would actually read/watch and blogs about cars/Motorsport that had more of an engineering twist to things, rather than just 'ooo this car is worth this much and goes this fast'?
That's the problem, it's not like a video game blog. It's very hard to start a motoring blog. You need viewers to get access to cars (or lots of money/rich friends) and you need the cars to get access to viewers.
Looks like I'll have to find me some rich friends!
You need an angle and you need to find how you can access things. If you are just posting ramblings and opinions based on presumption and reading rather than actually experience I am not sure it offers anything other than just an outlet for noise, like 99% of people's Twitter feeds, mine most definitely included.
What's your angle, what do you bring?

Sounds like the YouTube channel Engineering Explained
Have a good understanding of engineering (mechanical engineer), and have been told that I have a knack for explaining how things work to people that don't know, so would be based around that.
The most important question of all, is "do people actually like listenning to my voice"
There are millions of people out there with youtube channels / vlogs. What marks the successful onces out from the ones that are unsuccessful and have to spam other peoples comments to try to get people to watch them ?
Their voice. You can be as good at explaining things as you want, but if your voice isn't enjoyable to listen to, people won't watch your youtube channel / vlog.
So many times I've turned off a youtube video just because I can't stand the sound of the narrators voice. Not everybody is cut out
Seeing as my girlfriend just said "I don't even like your voice, it's unengaging"
one of the most successfull car vloggers is this guy
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2dBZuI6gS-jv7PCIDXkXag
he just rocks up at dealerships and sits in the cars in the parking lot. 673,000 subscribers makes for quite a lot of hits.
He's been so successful however there are now loads of copycat channels on youtube copying his exact style. They don't do as well however
