Right, thinking about gettin a Mac just after crimbo. Got a budget of around £1200 (giver or take a couple of hundred)

Have never owned or even used a mac before, but i really want to get one. Not only is it something new to learn but i would like to also get into digital photography.

Im not too fussed about what type of mac, be it mac book, i mac.....

Suggestions please :D

You're 20, that makes you a student... So.. Get a MacBook Pro with your student discount. ;)

Maybe bump up the HD a bit too, for the photos. :)

Go for a MacBook Pro if you need portability, if not go for an iMac. I use a MacBook Pro for digital photography editing, and it works brilliantly.

For your budget you can get the 24" 2.4Ghz iMac, or the 15" 2.2Ghz. Or have a look at the Apple refurbs, you can get some excellent bargains.

Oh, and even if you aren't a student, ring up and use the HE discount, pretend your still a student and you should be fine providing they don't ask for proof, which they don't usually. That's what most of us on here do :p

Going to go to the local Apple shop tomorrow (birmingham) and have a quick looksy at some macs. Justin (the fiend) has almost persuaded me to go down the imac route, along with some 24" glossy goodness.

Anything else i should be looking out for?

Student... I'm 28... :p
Still ordered it cheap though ;)
