Thinking about getting a 1440p monitor for xmas

Had my Dell AW2310 monitor for a fair few years now and I fancy an upgrade to a nice 27" 1440p monitor. Currently using a 390 card however plan to upgrade in future. Any ideas on what monitors I should be looking at or if I should even be considering the jump to 1440p with my current card?

Whatever you choose then try to make sure it has Freesync, it'll help with the lows and keep things smooth (1440p can be quite a stressful res on gfx cards)

In your price range I would be looking at a 27" AOC AGON AG271QX, it's a 1440 monitor, has 144Hz and Freesync. The only down side for me is it's a TN and not a IPS panel.

I'm in a similar position. Don't want to nail my colours to the nvidia or AMD mast just yet so was toying with getting a Dell U2715H for now then relegating that to my second monitor when I plump for either free/g-sync.
