The other half has just got one and I think it's a pretty nice phone. I thought the S3 was too big but this is a nice size for me, I realize it's only a dual core not quad but it feels pretty smooth/fast.

I have found one on 3 with a decent package that suits me.

500 mins
5000 texts
unlimited internet
£20.00 a month

I am currently using a Huawei G300, which is a nice phone but struggles with some games.

My question is do you think this is a good choice or is there a better deal or a better phone for this price range?

The GS 3 mini is crap for the money.

The GS 2 is a better device on the whole.

If you want the best smallish device then look at the HTC one S or RAZR i (both cost about the same, in fact might even be cheaper!)

+1. For the price and specs the S3 mini just ruines the S3 name. The One S and RAZR i will offer more performance for the price.

The two phones you advised on are £30+ a month for the same mins/text/data.

Do you have a link to some around 300 mins, unlimited text and data for around £20 a month?

Thanks

Christ almighty! The prices have gone up for both   Last time I checked (about 2-3 months ago), most deals were around £18-25 a month with no upfront cost (data was about 500-750MB)

Forgot that you listed unlimited data, unfortunately you aren't going to get many/any good deals around that price with unlimited data (for those 2 phones anyway). At best 500MB-1GB.

Best I can find for the one S is about 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB data, 24 month at about £21.50 per month and £80 up front (o2)

Best I can find for the RAZR i is 100 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB data at £21 a month for 24 months (T- mobile) or on o2 network up front cost of £80, 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB data.

You aren't going to get much better than that deal for any phone unless you are willing to spend more per month.

So if you're happy with the gs 3 mini and "need" that much min/text/data go for it or you could buy a second hand device from ebay and get a monthly SIM deal with that sort of usage (although probably won't be as good either) or go for that deal, sell the GS 3 mini and just buy whatever device you want and put the SIM in it.
