Thinking about MobileMe - talk me out of it

I've been running the mobileme free trial since Sunday Night and is working great no problems at all. However this is a new connection not an upgraded .Mac, which seemed to be where the main problem was.

I am getting mail updates quickly, even from my Web Mail out to the Internet, then OTA to my phone, so I can actually see how long taking.

However I will be using the family pack so works out lot cheaper as using multiple accounts.


If just want push mail then look at Yahoo as apparently does Push Mail, then just synch via iTunes on your PC/Mac at home for the Calendar.
 
Look into getting Gmail it should be pretty easy to sync with the iPhone using IMAP. You can also use google calendar as well, there should be some guides on how to sync it with the iphone I know it is pretty easy to sync with iCal aswell.
 
Sorry mate wont talk you out of it.

I have been using it since i got my iphone 3g and it really is great and you will be suprised how much you use it. Everything works fine for me, it is however a little slow at the minute but you dont really notice it.

Go on at least sign up for the 60 day free trial and test it out it really is well worth it.

It's not bad, but there are lots of issues with it at the moment. I never had .mac, but I'm having calendar syncing issues as well as the web interface being very slow and missing features (can't sync birthday calendars, are you MAD??!!). Should hopefully all be sorted in a few months time and then mobileme would be indispensable, at the moment those niggling issues are taking away from it. I'd probably wait for a bit if I were you.
 
Birthday calendars can be synced - you have to select it in the properties in the MobileMe web app :)

Put simply you can do pretty much all MobileMe does for free, but it'll require a bit more effort and obviously won't be pushed.
 
The contacts, calendar and mail all syncs beautifully on mine. Near instant (3-5 second delay).

Only downside (coming from Gmail) is the lack of event reminder via email; You miss an event, you don't get reminded.

Push can be used to impress work colleagues.. did it today :p lol
 
Working fine for me. I have an imac, a macbook and an iphone - and I (sadly I have to) also run XP on both computers. So that's five sets of things being sync'ed. And I have six email accounts (don't ask) on my iphone. I can hardly believe how well it works - I've been waiting for this for years.

Pity about notes not syncing properly. And who gives a stuff about birthdays?
