Thinking about SLi

Hi all,

Soon i would like to upgrade, and was thinking of SLI. Its just a thought atm as im a single card user. However im interested in a possible jump to 1440p, obviously this will entitle SLI if im correct? Ive heard here that prices on the 780s 3GB "might" drop soon when the new 6GB version is available, so thats whats got me tempted.

Anyways is it worth making the jump to 1440p as of now as im in limbo about sticking to a single 780 Ti and 1080p? I cant see nothing up with 1080p tbh and it would save me a lot of cash also. Also i dont think my AX860i would be able provide the juice needed too. Is it worth making the jump?

Yeah a 1000W is what i was thinking, im skeptical about the 860i, as im thinking of buying superclocked version. In terms of framerates on a single 780Ti, on 1440p with no AA, high texture settings etc, what framerates could you get on the latest/near future games?

Sounds good, as i wont be overlcocking the GPU anymore than it is, only the CPU to about 4.5GHz maybe a little more. Hopefully that has saved me some money to put towards another card, as il start with one and then add another a few months down the line once ive saved up.

But like you say, some breathing room would be good. Shame Corsair dont do an AX1000w

EDIT (off topic) speaking of which, what happened to the AX1200 on OCUK, it seems to have gone, is it discontinued?

To be fair it's not a bad idea to get a 1000W PSU for some breathing room (and in-case you end up going crazy with 3-way SLI eventually ), the Superflower 1kW PSU that Retro linked to is very high quality - better than Corsair PSUs from what I've heard of them.

Yeah it looks really good, price is good too. Ive always liked corsair though, it would be hard for me move
