Thinking about this i7 System

How would an ordinary P6T not suit everyday needs, what is it with the Deluxe that makes the difference?

Once i7 was announced it seemed a bit much to go for the Q9550/X48 setup that I had been looking at, especially given the cost of the i7 920. Around that time I saw an Gigabyte EP45-DS4 going for £95 and so I decided to go for that along with a Q6600 (which I've now OC'd to 3.4GHz) and save my money for when i7 had become more mainstream.

It ain't worth starting a thread over but I'd just like to say thanks to those who advised me on components a few months back, I was really out of the game and it helped a lot.

Pretty good! I'm at 3.8 ghz right now using 1.316v and it seems pretty stable (20 passes on linx). The only problem I get is the insane heat but I need to get a few fans to sort that out. The board has a lot of potential though, it's the cpu that's limiting it imo.
