I've come to the descision that I want to upgrade my 8800GTX, But fot the life of me I dont know what with! I have a 780i motherboard so I could use it as a physics card but I'm being overly tempted to go back to ATi, and in particular http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-273-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752, As I've always used Sapphire when on the red side. I have also been tempted with a 6790 because of the price difference. I am happy to spend 200 - 225 maybe a shade more if it's worth it.

Personally, I would wait for 28nm. The 8800GTX is still a great card, I use mine between gfx card upgrades/RMA's (which means I use it a lot :p) and it playa most games on medium settings.

Sapphire aren't as good as a brand as MSI. If you want a 6950, then I would spend extra and get THIS

The 570 is more powerful:

The 560Ti, is on par (when overclocked) with an OC'd 6950 :)

However, as i said, waiting is the best option (it'll be until q1 2012)

My only games as it stands are, Starcraft 2, WoW, and a large amount of steam games. My 8800 runs Sc2 on full gfx easily and wow on medium/high. I just want to get a DX11 card and try to improve things a bit. Would it be worth using my 8800 as a physics card though? Or just leave it out and get a ATi card?

If the ATI card is a good one, then don't bother. If you do go nvidia and you have some physx compatible games, then there's nothing to lose! (as long as you have good airflow)

I have a 580 and will have my 8800GTX in there for physx - mainly because I can :p
With my 6970, i didn't bother as the patch was annoying and it decreased the airflow

To be fair I wouldnt know which ones, Apart from Crysis + warhead. So i'd probably guess any of the cards would do the job.

PhysX is a complete waste of time. Whats the point in adding a power hungry dedicated card, just to get a few extra particles in a few games.
