As title says i'm thinking bout installing Linux and before i do that i wanted to ask if there are any known issues with my hardware (see sig). Using on board sound, samsung hdd (prolly would get new one for Linux) and asus lightscribe dvd-rw.
I've got virgin as my ip and using belking wireless router (cant remember the model and i'm @ work so cant check it).

If you need anymore info let me know. :)
Thanks.

You may have an issue with your graphics card... if you find that when booting the PC your monitor switches itself off then you might need to edit the boot up parameter on grub (the boot loader screen) and remove the keyword "splash". I have to do this with my 8800GT, but then Nvidia's driver works fine.

The rest of your specs seem to be fine and shouldn't pose a problem.

I had to use: nosplash vga=791. That was for ubuntu7.10

The ubuntu 8.04 alpha and beta plays very nicely with 8800GT and requires no editing at all.

OP - I also recommend Ubuntu higly, but suggest waiting 23 days for ubuntu 8.04 to be release. It will mean less headaches for you.
