Thinking of a 360

Howdy All

Been tempted to a 360 for a while, but sadly finances havnt been there, and couldnt really justify one.

With an impending house move in the offing, I need to get rid of some stuff so wanted to ask a couple of questions.

1) Should I go core of premium?
2) Im going to try to trade in :
  • Crystal Xbox - 2 Controllers - 5-6 games
  • Original PS2 - 2 Controllers 5-6 games, Memory Card
  • Gamecube - 2 Controllers 5-6 Games, Memory Card
  • Dreamcast - 1 Controller, Memory Card, 5-6 Games
Do you recon Game/Gamestation will give me enough to cover a 360 purchase with that lot?

3) Do I need to pay for a live sub, to play games online??
4) Where is doing the best deals on 360's atm

2) Probably not, a decent amount towards it but not to cover the whole cost.

3) Yes, you need a gold subscription to actually play online. You get a free month when you sign up to Live though, plus you can get good deals occasionally on 12 month subs.

4) Gamestation and HMV were doing good deals recently IIRC.

Yes, you would get (much) more money than trading them in a shop. I would expect to get maybe around £150-£180 for the lot.
 
Still leaves me £100 short, ideally wanted to outlay no more than about £20 on the 360 as our lass would kill me, as were saving for housey things :D
 
I feel your pain with the buying housey bits thing. Its a wallet basher thats for sure :p My only advice would be to consider renting games. £15 a month for two games and swap them as often as you like, at £40 a pop buying the latest titles is going to get a bit of a strain.

How many posts is it to get on the MM?

250. Make sure you don't spam your way up there though, as you'll find post count vanishing.

It's not a very good deal in my opinion, as you're getting a Core console with HDD, and a game, but you'd have a corded controller also.

You'd be missing out on a component cable and also the Live headset. If you stretch to £300, then you can get the better bundle available with PGR3 and a Wireless controller and a Premium. Though you'd still need to get either a play and charge kit or some rechargable batteries on top of that.

£88? how did they break that down for each console?

you'd be better off ebay'ing each console seperately, then you might get close to covering the costs for a core console at least.
 
Well its just under £30 each, which I think is disgracefull.

I think its to the fleabay batman, as I need to get shut quite urgently and waiting till I hit 250 posts is gunna take me a while.

I will just need to flog this lot off.

Got a few other bits to chuck in the 360 fund to, digital cameras and the like.
 
As do I Chadd, I went back recently, tho my subs are up now, couldnt settle there, wanted to start a new city but the community spirit has just gone from the game.

Trying a month back on WoW, if that doesnt grab me ill take a break from MMO's for a bit :)

Hence the 360 :D

Same here, I went from SWG to WoW now to 360 :D

Got bored of WoWs play style, and don't see the point in end game (get gear to get slightly better gear while raid leader screams down mic, lol), would rather spend my time having blasts of fun on the 360 :D
