Looking for a new monitor and probably will have FreeSync, since I have a PowerColor Vega 64 GPU.

I was going to wait until the LG 34GK950F come out, most likely in November unless the date is being moved forward again. But then I saw a mention about a 38'' monitor and had a look at those. Although can still wait for the 34'' to come out and see what the price is before deciding what monitor to go for.

Mainly I been looking at the two LG ones, 38UC99-W and the 38WK95C-W, but I am uncertain about certain features on them all, incl the 34''. Not doing any work on the monitor so it will be used for gaming, browsing and watching movies/youtube/twitch on it.

34GK950F

144Hz Refresh Rate
DCI-P3 98% with Nano IPS
VESA DisplayHDR 400
Response Time (GTG) 5 ms )GtG at Faster), 1 ms MBR

38UC99-W

sRGB over 99%
1 ms Motion Blur Reduction
Response Time 14 ms / 5ms GTG
Refresh Rate 60 HZ / 75 Hz with DP with FreeSync

38WK95C-W

HDR 10
sRGB 99%
Response Time (GTG) 5 ms (High)
Refresh Rate 60 HZ

If anyone could explain the below things I be greatly appreciated for that !

If I understand the Refresh Rate right, the higher the better ??
Not to sure about the sRGB and DCI-P3, but guessing it has to do with the color scheme ?
VESA DisplayHDR 400 amd HDR 10, have no clue about these.
And finally the different response times and motion Blur Reduction all confuses me.

Which of the above would you experts go with though ?? And if anyone reading this have or have had, one of the 38'' monitors, would love to hear your opinion on it, especially from a gaming aspect. :p

Or neither of the above and just pick a non FreeSync monitor ? :p

How close are you sitting to your monitor? Are you sat at a desk with monitor at the back, or a greater distance (e.g. on a sofa). A 38" monitor is a big beast, and might be too much.

Also, IMHO, 60 and 75Hz refresh rate should not be considered a gaming monitor.

Thanks for your reply @Stu , greatly appreciated. I actually bought another monitor the day after I posted this. Stumbled over the ASUS ROG Strix XG35VQ with a 17% campaign on the price so grabbed it, thought it was a good price and about in the middle of the two one mentioned above.

That's a VA panel ultrawide, right? How are you getting on with it?
Yup, it's a VA panel in it. Not had it a week yet but so far all good. Neither gone through all the colour settings yet, but the cinematic mode works better for me then the scenery mode, might have to check through all the others too later, but so far without doing that I'm happy with it all. Just powered up a couple games to see the fps and seems to working in the different ones I tried, not been in the mood to play for a longer time yet though.

But for the money I paid I am really happy with it. Sure, the LG monitor that coming out in November or thereabouts has better specs and all but the price is speculated to be around £1k, maybe a bit less. So yeah, all in all happy with it, main thing though is it is a freesync screen and I can take advantage of my Vega64 better, then with the previous G-Sync monitor that I had. :p

Good to hear. Although we all want the best, price can't be ignored by most of us. I also had sights on the new LG models, but I picked up the Alienware for £615 over the summer... the price difference was too much to ignore.
