Hi guys, around this time last year i got advice for building my current rig (should be in my sig) It was originally a HD 5970 but i switched that out for a 6950 because of i was could make some penny's doing that at the time, But i suppose now im looking for something to maybe speed things up again, i was thinking an SSD, but my main reason for a power increase is in prep for BF3 so would it be worth it or is there something else that could be of better use?

Cheers!

I would be surprised if your rig would struggle with BF3, You could always install another 6950.

SSD is a good bet, I upgraded last year to one and never looked back.

again like rjc i doubt your rig will struggle (and if it does just buy another 6950 if you board supports cf) and an ssd wont give you many if any fps boost in games (load times are quicker) but around windows transfering files etc they are super quick i just brougth an agility 3 60gb and its amazing

Also try to flash your 6950 to a 6970, hope this helps.

Depends which one he has. Some of the newer ones won't flash, and he could end up with a brick.

SSD's are great for loading speeds, and snappiness within Windows, but won't help at all in game. My vote would be for another 6950.

Hey, thanks for the reply's so far it sounds like another GPU would be a good idea, would have to look for another 6950 the same model as mine though as it has already been flashed to a 6970 and i have heard the newer ones can be a pain to flash.
