Right,

I dont know if this is a good idea for a side project but I really hate mysqlquery browser and I am equally as disappointed with the new workbench replacement.

I like the way that query browser works in a lot of ways but some things are useless.

Simple things like not being able to edit in the popups properly. The formatting is shocking.

There are other thing but my general question relates to whether other people would be interested in a better version of query browser and what features they would like to see in it.

Indeed! Thank you very much for that link. I think I might just do that.

Not a fan of workbench at all and neither are any of the people I work with. Thanks for the heads up though.

You might want to give Navicat MySQL a go first. It's leagues ahead of anything that's available for free.

Yeah I have navicat and think that its brilliant in general. I just like the simplicity of the query browser when doing certain tasks.

Heh I couldn't work it out and so downloaded the query browser instead.

I mainly use SQL Server Management Studio and the MySQL tools just aren't as good.
