Hey all, I am a PC gamer at heart I have always owned consoles to however my curren set is PS2, Xbox and Gamecube, I feel very tempted to get a next gen however I am unsure which would be best to get Xbox 360 or PS3.

Advice :D?
Jcb33.

do you have a hd tv ?

Does that matter?

My advice is to get your hands on the controllers/consoles and see which one you prefer because that is all personal opinion.
Look at exclusive titles because these are what make the console stand out. So find a list of past and future exclusives and if there is something you cannot be without (Halo, MGS, FF13 etc.) then that makes your mind up for you.

well yes it does matter in some ways,
if he didnt have a HD tv then he could go the 360, vga cable route giving him a far better picture and better options. using his pc screen.

I do not have a HD TV personaly, but I am in a house share and there is a 32" HD TV there, there is also a PS3 already in the house. Exclusive wise I am unsure what the 360 actualy has other than Ninja Gaiden 2, and would like to play FF13.

I am tempted by a 20" Samsung at £190, however this is a lot of money to be forking out if I do!

If there's already a PS3 in the house get a 360. I bought one (and sold my gaming PC) back in 2005 and 90+ games later I've never not had anything good to play.

edit: and there's a huge library of cheap great 2nd hand games now :)

Depends how long he is in the house share.
As you don't want to get a 360 since there is a PS3 there already, move out, then wish you had a PS3.
Its also nice to have your own console rather than be kicked off by the owner.

As for 360 exclusives, a few of my favourties: Kameo, Dead Rising, Crackdown, Gears of War...

EDIT: It looks like I am on the side of PS3, but I play my 360 a hell of a lot more.

why not play one of the consoles through your pc monitor?

i have both and play both for different styles of games

my 360 is my console fps machine [for when i cant be bothered to sit at my pc]
my ps3 is for all my adventure/action/sport games

look at the feature list of each one and see which appeals to you more

If you can wait until e3, their are rumors of a 60gb 360 and price cut's for both systems. Although i dont think Sony will announce a price cut this Quarter.
