Too many people blinded by new gadget syndrome tbh. If it was a 360 game it would be raped to hell and back.

Resistance is the best console fps out right now. Dont knock it unless you played it. 
The graphics are its weakest aspect but its still one of the more technically impressive games with large use of physics and effects. Even Epic commented on it being impressive. Especially the later levels. Its weird how the early part of the game looks and how the later parts look. I imagine the sequel will be something really special. The new PS3 Ratchet and Clank game uses the same engine.

I liked PD0. Online Co-op is definately a bonus.
On the topic of this review and R:FOM. Not bad, but I really don't think the graphics deserve a 9.
Totally agree with what your saying. This game is so run of the mill FPS. I'm on the 3th or 4th level of RFOM and I have just lost interest. People do say it gets better when you get past Manchester, but so far it just boring me to tears and I 'm finding it a grind.KNiVES said:

I much preferred co-op on PD0. Reisistance does have an edge but by absolutely no means does it 'utterly blow it away'
For single player, I find resistance about on a similar level to COD2/3. Standard, good quality, FPS. Multiplayer lifts Resistance a touch above COD2 and 3, though.

Resistances single player is good, not exactly anything new but it does have a decent story, and some cool weapons and stuff. Graphicly for a next gen its Average tbh, Some bits in it shine, but a lot of others dont, looks a bit like a PC game from 2004ish (Although Enviroemental effects look sweet). But multiplayer is great, ranked games are more sensible, and tend to be on smaller maps which is fun when you want some serious play, then 40 player unranked is just chaos on some maps, but extremely fun aswell.
Its a good launch game, and i hope theresa sequal wth better graphics and more online stuff.

I agree with the review, I'd say the graphics score of a 9 is a little high. Maybe an 8, where as GOW would probably get a 9.
By Graphics I think they mean visuals. As you'll notice they comment on Environment effects.
RFOM is by miles one of the best FPS games out there tho, 1 of the first times i've seen so much going off at 1 given times. WITHOUT slowdown

Im enjoying it, took a while to get in to but its worth it.
One of the better FPS I've played for sure.
Graphics are all down to what you compare them to i guess, i rarely look at the score games get on that side as for the most part its the reviewers opinion and down to what he/she is used to.

I hated the first level bacause there was no health to pick up but it got better after that.
I don't think the graphics are that hot (it's like any Medal of Honour game) and the gameplay is perhaps a bit dull in parts but we've all been spoiled by Half Life 2.
The multiplayer is very good though and reminds me of Unreal Tournament which isn't a bad thing. Co-op mode is good for a giggle as well but you really need to up the difficulty to make a game of it.

what i think too.
in single player its good that its lengthy and the amount of stuff that happens at once is very impressive .
how ever in online multiplyer i feel it stands well above any other console FPS that ive played
I think it is one of the worst FPS games I have ever played. Its basically just Call of Duty but with aliens and as for all the enemies and on screen going ons, it just gets boring. I havent sat more than an hour at a time playing at it. #there is much better alternatives out there.

I wasn't too impressed by the early R&C screenshots either, though I am pretty sure it WILL be fantastic when it's finished. As for now Resistance looks like it was built by a team who have had to rush the game out for launch in America and as a result it doesn't have the same consistency of graphics. Either that or it wasn't made by a very talented team, however I don't think that was the reason as multiplayer really is fantastic and the best I have played on a console in a long, long time.fdxd said:

You cannot possibly say Resistance is 1point behind gears of war on visuals. Gears of War is definitely a 10, it's the first game since Mario64 that I have actually gone "wow" at.wannabedamned said:

I'm not being harsh because I think it's a bad game, I am being honest, Gears of WAr, visually, blows Resistance away. Most FPS on Xbox360 blow Resistance away, the only one I can think of off hand that doesn't is FarCry.
