I am with O2 currently (monthly)

Iam thinking of changing to T-mobile due to a unlimited data deal

Question is , are T-mobile any good ?

T-mobile are a lot better then o2. Data wise i'll say a lot better. Was with T-mobile for just over 2 years. T-mobile and Orange share network. So network wise you shouldnt have a problem.

But, T-mobile do cap their Data to 3mb. So be warned.

Your download speed will be capped to 4mbps but you can use as much data as you want without worrying. I found my data speeds on o2 to be slower overall but more consistent, with t-mobile it can be very slow at times and very fast at other times.

You can easily get the speed cap removed.

However it can still be hard to get high speeds. When you do you can pull 20mbps, trouble is this kind of coverage is pretty scattered and seemingly random. When you switch to the Orange network the data speed is a lot slower.

They are good, but they really need to sort all this EE and network sharing crap out.

Hi, i was capped at 4mb, then called up they said they dont cap speeds, then hour later i did a speed test and always get 12-18mb download now, i tried Three but is very slow maybe cause they truly uncapped and its used up from customers, while tmobile are capped , so unless you complain they increase it and not many will be uncapped so you get fast speed

really waiting for the £16 offer with unlimited data to come and love to have it uncapped , right now im on basic 500mb but unlimited browsing

I am with T-mobile and they are pretty good. Sometimes the network is patchy. But I do live on the back of Arthurs seat ( but I can use WIFI at home anyways ) and I work in granton next to the sea. That's all in Edinburgh by the way !

I just changed from o2 to t-mobile about 3 months ago.... haven't had a correct bill yet, got to contact them again tomorrow over this months bill....

comparison -
o2 better customer services/billing - never needed to contact them until I wanted to leave, didn't even bother to try and keep me.... o2 customer services seemed to be in the UK

t-mobile - cheaper, better deal (12 months full monty for £16 with £50 cashback) and I do get a stronger signal where I am. Dreadful customer service though which is based in India or similar.

oh and the t-mobile site is useless at the moment, this ee combination junk is making it so you can't find anything due to broken links and going back and forward between t-mobile and ee websites....

I've only ever had excellent customer service from T-Mobile in the past (before I left yonks ago, then I returned a couple of years ago and were great. Not needed to access cust service recently and from what I remember their cust service centre is UK based.

not from my experience.... I've not had an english sounding person yet, they've all had the 'indian call centre accent' with 'english' names (we can't tell ) ....

You've been lucky or I've been very unlucky with mine but the fact I've needed to ring them up for every bill I've had so far isn't exactly good is it

Am tempted to call them up about he speed cap as I'm sure I could do with the extra speed on my HTC One! Is it literally just a case of asking an operator about speed caps and removing them?

I've been with them this time round for just under a year so far and I've had no problems, the only time I've spoken to their CS was to transfer my old number and that was quick and painless and they definitely weren't an indian call center.
I also like the fact that if it's nothing urgent I can get through to their CS on Twitter, I done this the other day to move tariffs and it was great as I couldn't have stood around at work on the phone.

Been with T Mobile for around 3 years now, no issues at all and get great speeds around where I live (about 13MB down). Would recommend.

Is that the case for all their plans until you call up?

I'm on the £32 a month unlimited package, currently waiting for my iPhone 5 to show up so I can test out my newly sliced SIM. I can't remember getting awesome speeds before this at all. Great coverage though.

I'm thinking of jumping ship from O2 as well (was about to say "O2 too"...but there's no service provider called O22 so you might hv got a bit confused....What day is it again btw <twitch>?! )

My main gripe with O2 in our area (esp our house) is the lack of 3G (never mind 4G...) and they are also now going to be losing access to BT Openzone so net access will be even flakier...

What's EE/TMob's wifi hotspot service like? (I've heard it's a bit pants as well,...too,....also :p )

Thx

I got in touch with T-Mobile over twitter and they didn't really seem to be too helpful - fobbed me off with "we try to offer the best speeds to all our customers but in times of high demand this isn't always possible" - well yes duh but can you please remove the speed cap on my line :(
