Hi,

I'm currently on plusnet premier maxdsl and fancy a change. My Games have horrible lag spikes and disconnects, there are numerous drops in service etc.

I have looked at Bulldog and in theory it looks good. I would be changing from bt to bulldogg and be on the 8mb package.

What is everyones experience with bulldog. I don't want to cause a big headache and be changing back to bt in a few weeks.

Thanks

Probably not a good idea at the moment. Bulldog are pulling out of the residential market, as noted a few posts down from this one.

They are not COMPLETELY pulling out, but they are stoping advertising on TV and sales through the telephone.

They will still be taking on customers through the website though, like all other isp's.

This is according to a letter they send me about all of this..:)

That may well be the case, but think about the following.
1)reputation for c/s is not that great
2)if you have probs with c/s now, do you really think it will get better when going through a third party?
3)why deal with an isp through a reseller when there are plenty of isp's you can deal with direct?

Remember a) you're stuck for 12 months and b) it's not quite as trivial as getting a MAC key, waiting a week, and changing your username to get back.

Hmm looks like Bulldog might be out of the question.

Problem is im having trouble chosing a new provider! Every isp i look at has people complaining. The thing is you don't hear comments about isp's on forums etc. when they are doing well, most of the comments come when people are having problems.

Thinking maybe nilram 2go, pipex go, and maybe eclipse. Any surgestions?

I'm finding Eclipse dog slow at the best of times for the past month

Gonna give them a call tomorrow but I fear I'll end up asking for a MAC code :/

Not true!

From 1 July 2006, Bulldog will no longer take on new residential and small business customers.

So get in their quick if you want a decent truely uncapped service (I pull about 600Gbs a month without problems/letters)
