Thinking of ditching my iiyama

The graphics card in my system is a XFX GeForce 7600 GS 256MB DDR2 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (PVT73P-UDL3) (GX-080-XF) card. It isn't quite the one I've just mentioned but was bought overclocked to higher values.

I have a 19" Iiyama Vision Master Pro 450 and I am sick and tired of carrying it around from house to house. Being that it is around 8 years old or so I think it's time for an upgrade.

What would you guys suggest?

The monitor would be used for general use and watching movies. I don't play games and therefore would I be right in thinking that a very small response time is totally unneccessary? I might however buy a TV card. These forums suggest the freecom USB (HDTV ready) stick which does look tempting.

The trouble is, I have looked at some of my friends' moniters and seen some 19"+ display models in shops. Even when these newer monitors were pushed up to the resolution (1600x1200) I use now, the quality of the picture didn't feel better. This is probably the reason why I have delayed buying a new monitor until now and I'm totally unsure what to do.

I'm using the exact same model, and it's bending my shelf now :)
'tis funny how it's outlasted all my other monitors, but what a bargain eh? mine must be 8-9yrs old too, best £350 I've ever spent.

I kinda feel the same, LCD's don't look quite the same somehow.
I may "upgrade" it to a 24" LCD just for the screen space, but am holding out for a HDCP version

would be interested if anyone thinks LCD's are better ?

I have never rung customer services at all. It's the one single component that I have never before hand dreamed of upgrading. Picture quality is brilliant, I just wish they did a comparable flat screen version.
