Currently looking at the Denon avr4500h and q acoustics 7000i system in 9.2 or 11.2

With such small speakers all around is it worth running 2 subs at each end of the room to stop me being hit with highs before the bass. I'll be selling all my current gear, yamaha 1073, MA bx2, mission centre, MA bxfx and real strata 3 or is it better to keep the real and just buy q acoustics in pairs. Love the sound from my current system but want (and need) the benefits of current amps.

I don't use any of the dsp modes on the yamaha so won't miss those

I've had a look a while they look great for front duties where you are looking straight on and they would be in an alcove, for rear, side and height they're to deep and obtrusive.
I just want to get away from big box speakers now. So in your experiance what are the best small speakers to go with the rel

Keep your amp and sub upgrade speakers upgrade sub if movies is a priority as strata is a music sub not high output design

I'm needing a new amp with 4k and hdr passthrough as the tv doesn't do dts sound. The sub has enough grunt in my living room so I'm happy to keep it

First thoughts turned to the Cambridge Audio Min 22 speakers for their wide dispersion and similar pricing to the 7000i speakers. However, they're even more bass-shy. Might still come back to them though for Atmos height duties.

Last time I looked, Monitor Audio Mass were on offer at a few places as the product is going end-of-life. These are hardly huge, but in common with the far more expensive Radius 90, they couple a decent bass driver with a high-grade tweeter to make a very effective mini monitor. Because the cabinet is about the size of a 2lb bag of sugar or flour then they're capable of getting down to 80Hz.

I did try the Cambridge min22 a while ago (only the single version) and they were ok but the sub was in a different position (further away) which is what put me off as I was hearing the highs to much. Might try them again for atoms duties as the size is appealing.

Which ma mass product do you mean as there seems to be 2. One being an odd shape which I like the look off

I have a 4 and 1 year old so don't need house shaking bass.
I'll try and demo the ma mass so maybe add another pair on the 5.0 then try the Cambridge on height duties
