Thinking of getting a AMD 6000+

The thing is I already have an AM2 motherboard, so waiting for the Intel price cuts won't be as cheap for me since I'd have to get both CPU and MB.

I already have a 4600+, and the 6000+ is 25% faster. I'm just wondering whether it'd be worth doing or not? Does anybody have any idea as to whether these AMD prices are planning to stay/lessen/increase in the near future?

Actually just having a further ponder - I currently have a 4600+ AM2 processor with 2GB 5400 Ram. Is it worth upgrading the CPU, or getting 2GB of faster Ram? I'm running 32bit XP Pro (no plans to change either to Vista or running 64bit XP (No drivers at all for my network card :/)).

I forgot about this thread, I'm not going to get an Intel chip as said before because I can't afford a new motherboard to go with it.

I'm still wondering about whether to get the 6000+ though, I've noticed that it's now £4 cheaper on OcUK than before as well...

You know new AMD X2 6400's are due but prob your 6000 will clock the extra 200mhz with stock volts anyhow, most get at least 3350mhz.

They are? Any idea of pricing?

NM I just bought and paid for one £103 with insured post woo...
