Hi, i'm thinking of getting a Macbook

* 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 1GB memory
* 120GB hard drive1
* Double-layer SuperDrive

I just have a few questions. Can i set my mouse (logitech dual optical) to use the right button for the ctrl options. Also can i set the thumb button to go back in browsers such as safari or firefox. Also is there a way to maximise the screen rather than zoom. I had a play in the shop and it was a bit tedious dragging windows.

I'm thinking of ditching my desktop (e6300, 2gb 6400, x1900xtx) and moving totally to a macbook. I don't play any games any more, mainly just listen to music, watch videos and browse the web. Will i notice much difference in performance by switching? I am also thinking about adding another gig of ram and a faster hd myself later.

Anyother advice for a first time mac user would be appreciated. Thanks!

Why set the right button to CTRL options when it will right click automatically? :p

Thumb buttons are a no afaik, use the mouse gestures plugin for Firefox if it bugs you though.

Window sizes... Just drag them to the size you want, and position and it should remember the settings.

Just swap if you don't play games tbh. :)

There's Logitech software for OSX, all your buttons should work if you install it.

As for maximising windows to fill the entire screen, it's sick and wrong and spending time with OSX will make you realise that!

If I want a picture off this webpage, I just drag it out of the window, to the Macintosh HD icon, bash space bar, then navigate around and drop it where I want it. It's nicer and easier than right click save as! That goes for a lot of things.. the way of working in OSX is just... different. You'll get used to it :)

The '+' button top right of the windows will make them bigger, often nearly full screen, anyway.

The + button doesnt always behave though, its just something you need to get used to. Has a mind of its own sometimes.

Especially with Safari - it "Maximises" to the website instead of the screen. I much prefer to drag to the size I like and then close it. It remembers the next time you open again :)
