but im not sure which direction to go. not sure whether to go down the X38/X48 route or stick with P35.

Will be using a Q6600, 4 gig of reaper X DDR2, few sammy HDD, 8800GTS at the mo and a 9800GX2 when i get round to getting round to replacing my current gfx card.

been hearing a lot of good things about the maxmius boards and also the rampage, but i have to admit i do like the look of the DFI boards.

any advice ? not a super clocker, but like the odd fiddle when i got the time :)

Asus Maximus was one of the best S775 C2D mobos I have tested...

Do you really need a new mobo for 400MHZ more speed on the Quad?

Or is this new mobo needed for extra features?

BTW dont get a GX2 get a GTX280 instead coming in a few weeks.

well its kind of a new build/upgrade but gradually, so im looking at getting a V1000 first, then the mobo, so forth.

did you have the normal maximus or the SE version ?

been looking at the P5B Premium Vista Edition motherboard. can get it for about £60, bargain or not worth the packaging its sent in ?
