Thinking of getting a pet rat

Must admit they say not to buy from pet stores but I got mine from pets at home and they are fine and very affectionate and loving. Does depend on the store and the breeder they get them from but my local pets at home has always been good and the staff really do care about the animals.

From the research I have done it would appear the main reason for this is because they mainly get them from farms. the cages are over crowded and they get minimul attention from some stores.

Can anyone recommend some good cheap rat bedding? This back2nature stuff seems stupidly over priced
