Thinking of getting a PSP

Been looking at getting a PSP with God of War and GTA, but are they any good?

I had a PSP when it first launched but sold it due to lack of decent games and the shocking loading times - have these changed?

I was looking at the remote play features to use with my PS3 and they seem pretty cool, so thats a plus.

I was also looking at the DS but all the games for that seem a bit girly or for kids.

Are the GTA and GOW psp versions any good is basically what I'm asking lol

With custom firmware i rate it as the best handheld ever

Without, just not enough good games.

Can't talk about custom firmware on here though so you'll have to google it.

yep custom firmware is the way to go! some psp games was 29.99 and that is wayyyy to much! I don't mind paying upto 30 for a PC though :D
In my lttle psp libary i have just over 200 psp games.
 
Its not even to do with getting free games though, putting games on a data stick instead of loading from the UMD reduces loading times and increases battery life. It allows you to play PS1 games off of the data stick instead of streaming from your PS3, It allows you to run megadrive, GBA and snes emulators and some of the homebrew games that are only playable with custom firmware are imo even better than the majority of official titles.

Piracy is still piracy, and it's what makes the legitimate uses of CFW completely overshadowed. If you don't want to pay for a game, don't play it.

There's some great freeware homebrew games and applications written by people sat in their homes without the backing of a large organisation or publisher, many of which are better than those released on UMD.

CFW is the reason to own a PSP in my opinion, but not because of piracy.

GTA liberty city stories was good but vice city stories was awful.

As for the psp I haven’t played mine in a year and I can’t say I’ve missed it, I do all my portable gaming with my DS lite.
 
Thought GTA on the psp was rubbish personally, infact most of the conversions are terrible, i'd much rather play them in there original format. I'm playing Jeanne d'Arc on mine sometimes, thats pretty good, as are most of the turn based tactics games for the psp.

GoW and GTA are very good on the PSP, resistance retribution is good.

Also i enjoyed the MGA games, although many others didn't.
