Thinking of getting a Xbox 360

I'm thinking of getting a Xbox 360 in the next couple of week, but have a couple of questions if someone can help please?

When would be the best time to get one, are there any new packs coming out shortly? I am intending to get the premium package (£179 I think).

I will be using the Xbox with my Dell 2407WFP-HC monitor. Unfortunately it doesnt have HDMI. How would be best to connect the Xbox to this please? I will be using my Labtec PC speakers, so I think I will need some sort of switch for the audio too.

Any help will be appreciated.

Get a Micrsoft VGA cable to connect it to your Dell

I thought the 60b version was coming out soon? If so that would probably make the 20gb version cheaper

I'm guessing it probably has DVI though,? so you can just use a HDMI to DVI thingy.

Thanks for the very quick replies. Would I be better off in getting a DVI > HDMI cable and a splitter box thing instead of the xbox vga cable?

I like all types of games, so will be getting GTA4, C&C and COD4 first :-)

No conformation on the 60Gb coming to UK, infact Microsoft said it wasnt, if you believe that.

I don't see the point in buying a 20Gb version now if the same dosh may get you a 60Gb version in a few months.

Yes get a HDMI-DVD cable much better than the VGA ones.

Ok brought one yesterday! got GTA4, Civ and Halo 3, and a VGA cable. Now I just need to work out how to connect my PC speakers to the xbox so I can get sound from my PC and Xbox without having to switch cables all the time. Any ideas?

nope, only the normal 3.5mm headphone connection. its a set of labtec 2.1 speakers I have had for the past 5 years :-)

Female RCA to Male 3.5mm

or a Male 3.5mm to Female RCA adapter and a male to female 3.5mm cable (headphone extension cable).

Where did you bring it?

Just use the lead mentioned above should work a treat.
