Is there a section on here where you can sell or trade
Items? Thinking of selling or trading my Asus 680s with ek blocks on.
Do you need to qualify for the section?

Yes there is a members market where you can do just that. Unfortunately you need 1000 posts to access it and you are a ways off that mark

Edit: Why would you get rid of your 680's? Its not as though there is anything to upgrade to really

I'm sick of stuttering in bf3 and others games.
Thinking of switching to the red team as I never tried them.
2X7970s or I might just get 1, or a 7950.
And just wait for the new cards next year.
But I want rid of them.

Fair enough, I don't know about the current gen AMD cards but I haven't noticed any microstuttering on my old 5000 series so I suppose it must be worth a go.

Given that you cannot access the members market I think you would be best off putting them up for auction elsewhere. What were you thinking of selling them for?

Sounds like a fair price. Under other circumstances I might offer to buy them from you but the car needs stuff doing at the moment, and unfortunately that takes priority... and leaves money a bit tight atm :(

Had 6950's crossfire, and no problem with them, in games that support them (ie BF3). Did give a massive framerate boost (I'd say around +80/85%). But with the game already running at 40-75 fps, and all the complications and noise involved, I sold one. So yeah, AMD is OK in my book.

The problem sounds like it's possible your end and I'd hate for you to swap to only get the same problem. The grass is not always greener and you are going to lose money swapping.

Can you check:

a) your PCI-E lanes are both running at 8x
b) you've tried a windows re-install to get rid of any underlying issues
c) tested at stock settings (no overclock on CPU/GPU)
d) bumped system agent voltage a touch as you're running SLI
e) when the cards are overclocked, overclock them to the highest common possible clock speed, I.e. don't have them at different speeds

Everything I've read on the 6** series says that nVidia have taken steps to eliminate micro-stuttering to almost single card levels and I don't have any problems myself although of course that is not to say you won't.

There's a load of things you can check further but try those to start because a 7970 swap will be a side grade and you might not get on with AMD for something else and if so you'll be massively out of pocket in the process.

In fairness to FantasticCG, if I was having problems and not being able to fix it, I would also be looking to swap over. Like Rusty says though, you will be losing money and maybe you will be swapping one set of problems for a different set?

I wish I could help you bud but I have no idea soz :(

bf3 stutters regardless of what cards you have. 1 min the servers can be running sweet and the next minute they are a stuttering mess.

when someone says games like bf3 and other games I don't believe they've tried other games, otherwise why not name them as well? ;)

Maybe there's a lengthy list, and to him it's just generally noticeable all round? He might play BF3 more than any other title, though, hence that may well be the 'cherry' on the cake. ;)

Well borderlands 2 is another example but it seemed to smooth out when i switched to the xbox 360 controller. I tested crysis 2 yesterday that seemed fine.
Also in BL2 when more enemies came on screen it seemed to happen.
One thing my mobo manual mention to have the cards in slot 1 and 3. For best performance. I have them in slots 1 and 2 and so does pgreenwo from the forums.
He's tried them in both and couldnt notice the difference .

d) bumped system agent voltage a touch as you're running SLI what does this mean?

Just before i watercooled my pc i had 1 680 using my dell 27" 2560 x1440 and had bf3 running perfectly with a couple of mods to ultra

Could be you have a key logger installed on your pc? If you haven't installed one run a virus scan.
That would explain it smoothing out when using the controller.

Have you tried in slots 1 & 3 instead of 1 & 2?

Using slot two engages a separate chip (nf200) on your board to provide bandwidth to that slot, adding extra latency.

1 & 3 are direct from CPU.

edit:

Also make sure your usb 3.0 drivers/bios are the latest versions. I had this board but swapped it for the 'inferior' board I have now because I couldn't live with the sub-standard usb 3.0 implementation on it. (I'm guessing your mouse/kb are plugged into usb 3.0 and your controller is plugged into front usb 2?)
