Evening all,
I haven't posted in a while, things have been crazy but I won't bore you all with my life story details!
I am weighing up 1440p vs 1080p and under the impression that my current rig is just not going to cut 1440p gaming and will rely heavily on adaptive synchronisation. For reference, I am running a 3570k @4ghz, a GTX1660 and a Dell P2210 monitor.
I do intend to upgrade, but I really don't know when this will be and I tend to upgrade as a necessity rather than on a whim. I feel that if I go down the 1440p route, it will be an expensive upgrade of my whole machine, given the advancement of games.
I have Doom Eternal and Witcher 2 at their highest settings with no appreciable frame drop, at the native resolution of 1680x1050 but, there is no headroom above 60hz. I have Cyberpunk 2077 on order too, but I want to start/finish Witcher 3 before I start on that this December.
In my shoes, would any of you make the small upgrade from 1680x1050 to 1920x1080 in the interests of economy, or go to 1440p with say an LG 27GL850 which could potentially be a more future-proof option?
I do a little bit of photo editing and a lot of browsing and video streaming, along with my gaming, in case that sways my options!
Thanks for reading!
