On the road....
After chatting to Fox on MSN the other day, he barated me for still having orange indicators, so,

>> Poll please Mr nice Don person! << :)

£240 ish for front / rear & side clear indicators & bulbs for my BMW (pics in sig)

Or,

What I WAS thinking of spending £240 on,which is an amplifier & some uprated rear speakers & bass box. * ?

*Not looking for a mega sound, just would like some more "oomph" from my bass & mid range, BMW Business Radio's are good, but not great.

What to do? I'm happy with my cars looks, and, as to a trained eye my car would still obviously be a <2000 model, I don't see much point in the indicators.

Been looking at Motormec's Website for some bits, found some a bit cheaper.....

White Side Repeater Lamp Set

£19.88 a pair

Front White Indicator Lamp Set
Fits vehicles built before 08/1998
£43.30 a pair

Rear Crystal Rear Lamp Set
only £149.00 a pair

So thats a bit cheaper......

Trouble is, the CD will still sound tinny.

It may sound pricey but it makes such a huge difference, it's the first thing i'd do to any E38, if one i was looking at didnt have clear lenses then i'd add it to the purchase cost in my head.

As said though, maybe 2nd hand would be cheaper?

Remove the sound proofing and just listen to the roar of the engine instead of music

Can't you get some from a scrappy? If you can, I'd defo go for it!

Alas, e38 BMW's are like rocking horse poo in scrappys, never mind late ones with clear indicators!

Its (sadly) quiet even with the windows open, (damn EU beaurocrats making modern cars near silent ,alas.)

Short of drilling a few holes in the exhaust, I doubt it'd be much better.

LOL, hardy worth it and tbh who's going to really notice. Its not like your going for a max power feature car.

Its a BMW, job done :D

Pretty much my thoughts...... :)

go halfsies then, the rear lenses are the expensive ones, so detango the front and sides and buy some replacement audio kit.

Then in a month's time, buy the rears :)

The main reason for the thought of replacing them is I reversed into a tree a while back so the rears need replacing as one is cracked thus...

I can get a replacement O/S/R lense (orange) for about £40, just a tad cheaper than the clear!

In that case get a clear one :)

And can we work out a way to make your car louder? :p
Maybe you dont your changing it in the low revs too much :p

But there about £110 more! :( (and I'm tight! ) :D

Engine noise isn't high on my wish list, I know its there, just, which is fine by me.

Its the sound system I want louder / to be able to "feel" :)

Thats not enough damage to fail an mot now or in the forseeable future so I wouldnt bother personally. I'd go with the stereo, 240 is a silly amount to spend on a simple lens
I have changed my side indicators to clear but it only cost me a fiver with bulbs so its hardly the same :D

Neither is essential so I guess its whichever most improves your 'driving experience'

Looks like you have your heart set on your sound system :(

That crack isnt really all that bad tbh.

Its not like there isnt anything left of the light cover :)

GO CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!!
