THINKING OF GOING EYEFINITY!

So the title pretty much says it all I'm thinking of going eyefinity (triple monitors) and I wanted some honest feedback from people who
own or at least have regularly used a triple monitor workstation. Currently I have a iiyama 27" monitor that outputs at 1920x1080 and
I'm thinking of buying 2 more mainly for gaming. What I want to know is it worth it and how well will my games run?

THE SPEC'S

Now I know you need my spec's so here's the run down

Motherboard: Asus P6T
RAM: 9GB DDR3 @ 1600Mhz (9-9-9-24)
CPU: i7 920 @ 4Ghz
GPU: Crossfired 5870's (Gen 1)
PSU: Silverstone Strider 850Watt

GENERAL INFORMATION

I have a desk big enough for 3 monitors and I currently have a dual monitor set-up with a 22" which is very useful when it comes to
watching movies on one screen and chatting/web browsing on the other it also works brilliantly when using photoshop I can have a
render on one screen and be shooping on the other.

Games I play:
Crysis
Cryisis 2
Counter Strike Source
Team Fortress 2
Call of duty (MW2, BO, COD4)
Star Craft 2
Portal
Portal 2
GTA IV
Battlefield 2
Battlefield bad company 2
etc..

I understand that some demanding games like Crysis, Crysis2, BF:BC2 will slow down but by how much and will it become unplayable on
three monitors?

You have x fire 5870! that's easily enough for three screens!
I would suggest you ask a mod to put this in the graphics card section;)

You will get lots more info over three screens and it will make gameplay much moe immersive :D

I run 3 x 24" monitors on 2 x GTX470's and all those games run fine, even crysis

All I would say with 3x 27" is its *maybe* too wide, depends how close you sit to them. I have to turn my head a lot with the 24"'s to see any HUD's on the side :p

"Obi wan mode on" These are the results your looking for. "Obi wan mode off"

Thanks for the link :D

2x 24" would probably be better width wise but It would annoy me so much having different sized monitors. All though I'll look into it.

Thanks for all your advice ^^ think it's a definitely go ahead at the moment

never to wide! :p

full periphial vision is awesome in gaming, especialy fps games...

the advantage of being able to see more then most is pretty big... no more people sneaking up on you from the side for a cheeky knife :D
