thinking of moving

hi,

i am toying with the idea of moving to unbuntu from windows7 i need the following to be able to work, can anyone advise?

connecting my laptop to tv via hdmi

football manager (steam). which is belive is available when the new version is out.

torrents

iphone sync putting my music on my iphone

Not sure about itunes (someone else should be able to advise) but the rest should be doable. But what's your reason for switching?

there are itunes alternatives, I can't think of any names of the top of my head though.

What GPU does the laptop have and AMD drivers can be difficult from my experience

iTunes doesn't work in Wine from what I recall.

There are native linux alternatives though.

i have a hp amd 5000 card i belive switchable so may have a issue there,

the reason i want to switch is i dont really like windows 8 and i cannot get graphic card drivers so this may be difficult going forward.

ideally i would like osx but cannot afford the premium of a mac pro

I would (well I do actually) go with kubuntu over Ubuntu. The KDE desktop is just easier to get along with.

You will probably have better luck than I did, AMDs linux drivers have matured quite a bit since I last tried with AMD graphics.
