Thinking of new gaming PC, which OcUK prebuilt would you buy?

hey everybody, looking to buy an entire new PC. I've been putting it off for years but I'm now seeing upcoming games with minimum system requirements beyond what I have.
Current system, built in 2005/06:
Motherboard - ASUS P5Q PRO
CPU - E8500 dual core
RAM - 4GB
GPU - 8800GTS

I'd like to buy a relatively futureproof PC capable of running near future games at atleast 1920x1080 with their higher graphics settings.
I don't really have a budget as I rarely upgrade, but of course I do not want to spend hundreds of extra pounds on unnecessary hardware.

I'm thinking of buying a prebuilt system, I know a lot of money can be saved by building a PC oneself, I put together several PCs when I was a kid but I now have very large, clumsy hands, no longer have the help of my father, and don't mind paying an extra £100-200 to avoid the hassle and small risk of foolishly messing it up.
After looking around different prebuilt sites OcUK seems decent value and despite the shorter warranty I get the impression they put some care into building their PCs.

My main questions:
With no budget but not wanting to waste money, which prebuilt system would you buy from OcUK selection for a single monitor setup and with which options? would you wait for new upcoming OcUK prebuilt systems? also OcUK doesn't seem to have a selection of prebuilt z97 chipset PCs yet, should I wait abit for them?

Is it a good time to buy or would it be worth waiting some more time?
Maybe for more intel Haswell CPUs to be released or even for Nvidia 800 series?

AMD 290 or Nvidia 700 series? I'm abit confused from seeing different benchmarking results from various reviewers. Generally I prefer Nvidia as I've had some dodgey and unreliable ATI cards in the past and my favoured game series tend to be Nvidia, but perhaps it is worth investing in mantle.

I'm thinking of possibly buying the "Titan Envy M" i7 4770K with a 770 or 780

If I buy a prebuilt could/should I ask for specific versions of MB/GPU/RAM?

The Titan Katana (with AMD GPU) and Titan Tanto (with Nvidia GPU) look good value for money - and they're often on This Week Only offer. The Katana is currently on offer:

YOUR BASKET
1 x "Titan Katana" Intel Core i5 4670K @ 4.2GHz Overclocked AMD Radeon Gaming PC **Ruby Games Offer** £253
1 x Standard Build Systems - Dispatched within 7 working days £0
1 x 24 MONTH WARRANTY - COLLECT & RETURN £0.01
1 x Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00614) £74.99
1 x BitFenix Ronin Tower Case - Black £69.95
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £164.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLYD38G2133HC11ADC01) £59.99
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW) £67.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £43.99
1 x MSI Radeon R9 290 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £319.99
1 x No Sound Card Upgrade £0
Total : £1,069.90 (includes shipping : £12.50).

4670k/290 pre-built for £1070 inc shipping isn't bad, and it will boss anything at 1080p on max settings. The downside to the Titan systems is that they do not come prepared for adding an additional GPU in the future.

spent the last 2 days thinking about buying a new pc and the master HD/PSU just died after 8-9 years, BSOD crash, then BSOD every start up, then no signal from GPU. what are the chances?
I think it was reading my messages yesterday and I hurt its feelings.

k i'm stupid, before i did not notice OCUK had a system configurator option, i thought they only offered prebuilts.
the selection of graphics cards seems limited though, what is the reason for that? is it possible to ask for other models of gfx card?

Thinking of x60i in this set up.
x60i
Case: Corsair Carbide 540 high airflow ATX £98.95
Mobo: Asus Z87 Sabertooth 1150 £176.99
CPU: i7 4770k 3.5ghz £239.99
CPU cooler: Corsair hydro H80i £74.99
RAM: Teamgroup vulcan gold 2x8GB DDR3 2133mhz £119.99
GPU: KFA2 GTX 780 EX OC 3GB £379.99
PSU: SuperFlower Golden Green HX 750w 80 plus gold £89.99
Master HD: Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO £149.99
Slave HD: Western digital caviar green 3TB £89.99
Optical: OcUK x24 DVD RW £12.95
Fan: Noise blocker blacksilent pro fan 120mm £12.95
Lighting: Bitfenix alchemy LED strip 60cm Blue £25.99
OS: Windows 8.1 64bit £74.99
Total - £1562
+ £84 Build cost
Total - £1646

Is adding just 1 fan to that system going to provide enough airflow?
I guess they install it plus 2 or 3 fans which are included with the case for free?
I've had some overheating issues with GPUs in the past despite good fan setups which makes me tempted to splash out on a 780ti with watercooling block, not that there is an option for one

The pre-built systems actually tend to offer better value for money than the configurator. You could get a similar spec from the Titan Scythe, with the 4770k overclocked to 4.3ghz, for around £300 less.

YOUR BASKET
1 x "Titan Scythe" Intel Core i5 4670K @ 4.3GHz Overclocked Nvidia GeForce SLI Quad Core Gaming PC £307.02
1 x Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00614) £74.99
1 x 24 MONTH WARRANTY - COLLECT & RETURN £0.01
1 x Standard Build Systems - Dispatched within 7 working days £0
1 x NZXT Phantom Enthusiast USB3.0 Full Tower Case - Black £104.99
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £239.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G2133HC11ADC01) £53.99
1 x Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE250BW) £119.98
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £43.99
1 x KFA2 GeForce GTX 780 EX OC 3072MB PCI-Express Graphics Card (78XNH5DN8MSU) £379.99
1 x No Graphics Card Upgrade £0
Total : £1,341.14 (includes shipping : £13.50).

Getting a GPU with a waterblock isn't enough - you need a full custom watercooling loop for that to have any cooling effect. And that will cost you: the cheapest pre-built watercooled system is around £2500. I wouldn't worry about overheating, though - just get a case with decent airflow and you'll be fine.
