Just got a question. I've read posts about people having an engineer visit their homes and moving the master socket for free. How do I go about doing this?

Do I first need to request an engineer install for £44? We have our master socket downstairs and the modem upstairs. Is it worth doing this to get the master socket moved to upstairs?

When I went to fibre, PlusNet moved the socket for free - which wasn't an easy job as the cabling needed to be replaced in the attic (done by myself). The most you could do is to call the provider & ask about it :)

Keoje there would need to be a TRC banding on the job from your service provider to enable to engineer to complete a socket move.
