Ok I have sat down and done some maths and realised my 2 cars cost me more to run than my rent a living expenses together. So at the end of the summer I may make a few changes.

I study and live 200 km away from my office and girlfriend, I drive down to the office once per week at around 110mph on a poorly maintained motorway also there is a LOT of snow in the winter

My current cars

Audi TT with quite a few mods and 280 bhp (used 85% of the time) get 28 mpg on the motorway.

Golf V5 with a 2.3 no mods and 170 bhp, around 22mpg on the motorway

My girlfriend is taking the Golf from me so I my options are

1 Keep just the TT

2 Get a 2.7 boxter, around 2002, this would be good because I think I can put my alloys from the TT on it. They cost around £3k with tyres so would be a shame to give them away with the car.

3 Get a 350z (about 2003) (will probably have to sell my watch) – also I don’t know if I can afford run a 3.5

4 get a opel speedster (aka VX220) and mod it a little. This is way to impractical for day to day use so I would probably have to get a old Skoda or Smart car also which would cost nothing to run.

5 Grow up and get a 320d

Anything else I should look at? Are the above actually an upgrade to the TT or are they just a side step or even a step down (boxter)? ?

get rid of the girlfriend, use the sale of the golf to finance something better (this way you can also keep the watch)

LOL she is a new one and really nice so im going to try and keep hold of her for now however she is buying the car so its not a problem.

I do like the sound of a 330d and they look quite nice with a M-pack (euro spec car). I will try and find one to take a test drive.
