Sorry for the lack of response folks! Thanks for all your answers. Im going to have to start this sooner or later. Just a massive undertaking with all the stuff I have to offload...
Whats the girls name?
ps3ud0
Harhar

My 2.5year old ankle biting daughter you mean?
Yep good call. Forgot about amibay.
Good question. I have a fair amount of stuff which has been stored in about 15-20 "Really Useful" boxes doing nothing, which I feel is a bit of shame.
Plus I would like to generate some cash for potentially something else (possibly towards a new car etc).
Ebay obviously!
I have never seen a thread on the GD forums with posters moaning that they have been shafted by a buyer!
Seriously....if I had access to the MM I would sell there.
To the bay obviously

But as you say, seriously, MM is probably the safest place (along with AV forums and amibay).
I know that was meant as a joke, but seriously this is so so true, some women do make men sell off entire collections, I had similar with a girl I was with.. To say, we aren't together any longer.
Hopefully you've thought long and hard about selling up, and MM on OCUK is generally very good for selling , never had an issue on there myself. Used it a few times to both sell and buy.
Its been coming a while to be honest. Had a long think about it.
When it comes down to it, Im sure when I start to sift through the stuff I will be like:
"I'll keep this just incase because its fresh minty..."
"I'll keep this cause it was my first Snes game..."
"I'll keep this cause it was my first console..."
"I'll keep...."
You see where it could potentially go
If you want to sell locally then maybe try Gumtree or Shpock.
The MM can be difficult to move console items. Particularly if the right buyers aren't looking while your thread is on the front page. You can only bump you thread up with price drops.
A decent SNES Collection and a box Mega Drive both went unsold.
Mmm that's a worry. But I heard horror stories about Gumtree? Plus target market are typically buyers rather than retro collectors?
Not heard of Shpock, need to check it out.
Nothing could surprise me more than the fact people actually use that. TV ad is enough to make me never ever bother.
There isn't really a good place to sell it all in one go but the best bet is probably Gumtree. People can just pick up what they want without having to buy the lot and it's safer scam-wise than eBay by a long shot.
Oh is that so? Ok I better take a look at Gumtree also.
I've bought plenty of retro stuff from Shpock. The area you live in makes a difference as to what's available. And yes the app and many of the sellers are rubbish. But it's free to sell and it's one more selling stream you've got.
At the end of the day it depends what you've got to sell and how much you're asking for it. And how quickly you want to sell.
I recently struggled to sell a boxed PS3 for £50 on Gumtree, it sold on eBay for £70 delivered. Which netted me around £50. Same with most of the games and consoles I've sold in the last year. The only thing I sold on Gumtree is the Xbox One I had in the MM last week. I didn't even get any offers in the MM for a week and it wasn't over priced and sold on Gumtree for my delivered asking price in the MM.
eBay has the largest market of potential buyers, but you also have all the risks of selling on eBay brings.
Fair comments bud. I guess Im going to have to see how it goes with certain items. Perhaps some things are easier to offload in MM and vice versa for eBay/Gumtree et al.
