As of late I have been getting the notion to sell up and think about getting something else to run about in. I was thinking of starting to save and by the summer have a little cash stored away, sell the Mondeo and get something a little more radical. I was thinking max of 7k. That’s assuming I could maybe get 3k for the Mondeo but really have no idea what its worth.

Cars I have been thinking about are

BMW E30 M3
Impreza RB5
Toyota MR2 Turbo
Integra Type R
Any 2 seater sports car

Just something unique and fast woukd suite me :)

I haven’t looked into it properly yet and don’t know what kind of insurance I would be quoted on these kind of machines (23 with 4 years NCB) but was looking for some advice on cars to consider and what you guys reckon I would get for my current car ?

Mondeo ST24 2.5 V6 (W Reg 2000)
115k miles
RSAP Kit
Lowered on Koni adjustables
18” BK Racing 299s
Dastek Unichip (187bhp)
BOMZ Air Induction Kit
Decat Powerflow twin exit exhaust
Full JL Audio setup (2x JL Amps, 2x JL 12” subs, 32 Band EQ, Alpine Head Unit)

Or am I being daft and should I just keep the Mondeo. I do really like it but I just want a change, ideally I would like 2 cars one 2 seater for fun. But then I was thinking of doing a DAS bike course and getting a nice bike but I really don’t know.

Need some advice guys :D

If you were to run two different cars, the most radical of weekend toys would be a Caterham 7 style kit car. A number of Westfields are available well within the £6k bracket and they will definitely put a smile on your face.

Naturally this won't be too useful as an every-day car and you'll need a cheap banger for a run-around too :D

Yeah thats a bit too radical I'm afraid:)

Besides the 7k budget is assuming I can get 3k for my current run about.

So the next step is working out if you are ever going to need the ability to carry a suitcase etc.

If you can stretch slightly further then this brings the Lotus Elise into the mix. The problem with any sports car is that they demand a higher premium in the summer, and you might be worth waiting until next winter to buy (which has the added bonus of saving a little more).

Failing both of those, any of the options you've suggested up there sound reasonable. Go take some test-drives!

I'm afraid you are dreaming of an E30 M3 for 7k. Or if you do get one for that price, you'll spend the same in repairs.

You could however get a saph cossie for that budget. Got boost? ;)

Looks nice, but is a lot of miles. Perhaps you could bag a bargain one. I must admit I thought they were still more than this. I believe the alpina in this shape was the C7 (don't quote me!) and you could look at one of these. Around 240 bhp so should be fun! I do love the E30 shape.

Still cossie power ***. Buy one for approx 5k and could have 350 or so brake with the change.
