Hi

In 6 weeks time our Virgin Media contract expires , now we have been with them for a long time from the ntl/telewest days , overall the service has been good apart from the odd problems with internet slowness at peak times.

We have phone/tv and broadband and also have the tivo service.

We want to save some money as our monthly bills are £90 a month which is a lot when that does not even include sky movies or the complete sports package of which we only have ss1.

BT is what we are looking at as we can save almost £35 a month , but it does mean losing some good stuff like the tivo and also the full tv channels, as well as sports to get it at a lower price.

Is anyone with BT that can tell me what the broadband speeds are like , more interested to find out what its like at peak times as I stream netflix and this can be a bit rubbish sometimes with VM.

also would I regret switching from tivo to a on demand type system with BT?

cheers

Speed depends entirely where you are, as what exhanange you're connected to and how far you're away from it can affect the overall speed/reliability of the broadband. Can you get BT Infinity? Have you considered Sky instead seeing as you already have Sky TV?
