Thinking of switching to Plusnet.

I'm currently on Sky fibre up to 40MB, but I can get Plusnet up to 76MB for the same price per month as I'm paying Sky if I take the telephone with Plusnet as well.

Now I've had Sky fibre for nearly two years and it's been faultless and I have zero complaints. But the carrot of double the download speed and almost 4 x the upload speed for the same price I'm paying now is tempting.

I would like some feedback from past and current Plusnet customers please.

As I said, I've not had any problems with Sky fibre at all. It's never been off and the speed is always 32MB download and 5MB upload whenever I test it.

But Plusnet's pricing means I can double the speeds I get now for the same overall monthly bill.

But I'd like to get some feedback from Plusnet customers before I switch.

Im with sky for tv, used to have internet and phone but had awful problems dont know why changed to plusnet and its been faultless!

On top of that sky have been great with our tv package offering us a great deal with the movies package so all is well

Ive been with Plusnet for around 4 months now and went with them for the same reasons as yourself.

Its a great service for the price, speed is always consistent and never gets throttled also never had any downtime with it so cant really complain.

Also I think its beneficial having an English speaking call center and with Plusnet not using MER as Sky do you can use your own cable router.

Been with Plusnet since May, customer service seems pretty good so far. It's also very nice having the call centre in the UK.

Looks like I can only get up to 32MB at my address at the moment, so moving to PlusNet would only gain me £38 cash back from Quidco.

My only other option to gain any speed is Virgin Media, but I've had them before and it wasn't a great experience. They might have sorted out the problems in my area, but I'm not taking the chance on an 18 month contract to find out.

Not unless there's anyone from Tamworth who has Virgin Media and can reassure me they've got their act together.

Thanks for the replies though.

Have recently requested my MAC from Sky (was an o2 customer) to move to Plusnet and from Plusnet's speed checker, I should be able to get a Fibre BB speed of up to 71mb.
How accurate is this compared to standard broadband estimate speeds?
O2 quoted me an estimate speed of 17-19mb, in real life I get max 10mb ( I know variables have to be taken in to account but surely their data and tech should cover this?)

On Sky fibre I get 32mb and all the other providers indicate that I'd get 32mb when I use their speed checker.

So I'd say they are pretty accurate.
