Thinking of Switching to TalkTalk from Plusnet. Yay or Nay?

I've been with TalkTalk for around 18 months since moving to an area that didn't have VM or Sky. I would recommend them, I live very close to the exchange so I get their headline LLU 24mb speeds. Their website is very good and I haven't had to phone their CS once, which is probably why I would recommend them.

A lot of the stigma regarding them is their CS, if you don't have a need to call them, then you're absolutely fine.

I'm now with Talktalk, having been with Sky for many years. I've noticed no difference in speed or reliability of the connection and they sorted out a problem with enabling my line with no hassle at all - I didn't need to speak to anyone.

Hi there,

We're thinking of switching to TalkTalk LLU from Plusnet, mainly due to the cost savings (something in the region of £10 a month).

What are you paying now if you don't mind me asking and what are TalkTalk offering?

You may find you're able to negotiate something more amicable by speaking to our Customer Options Team.

Best regards,

If your lucky enough to live near too the LLU then you will get a decent connection, but their forums are also full of horror stories of people with 1-2mb or less. The phone support is also just been bad for me, I had an issue and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines of support all asked me the same exact stupid questions and I wasted 4 hours on the phone and they couldn't fix my issue claiming it was a fault on my end. Took them 2 weeks to send an engineer who discovered there connection was broken on my road.

Went form Sky to Talk Talk to save some cash, had three weeks without internet, told Talk Talk to sod off, resigned up with Sky got it all running in under a week, then Talk Talk took over my line and cancelled my broadband, typing this on a dongle.

Will be drawing up small claims court paperwork for Talk Talk on Monday for making me miss three days out of office waiting for engineers they failed to arrange etc etc

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS FARCE OF A COMPANY

Hi Bob,

We pay ~£35 a month for unlimited broadband and anytime calls from Plusnet. We are on a one month contract with you (Plusnet). Our exchange is listed as Market 1 which I think explains the higher price than what you advertise.

TalkTalk's LLU checker seems to be down currently so I'll add what they're offering when it comes back online. It was, as I said, at least £10 a month saving though.

Still no internet, Sky trying to sort it out but Talk Talk have royally fubarred me up, they do not return calls and cannot offer any information as to what they are doing to sort it out, it's amazing how much you miss something that didn't exist in the home 20 years ago lol
