Dingley dell down by the wishing well
Looking at this and thinking after oscillating between the Alienware AW3423DWF and the Samsung G8 Ultrawide I came across this MSI one. Wondering what peoples experiences are with it and if anyone has experience regarding MSI warranty etc. Really tempted as the price seems good compared to the other two monitors. It has a higher refresh rate to boot. Not overly keen on the stand so will likely end up getting an arm for it instead... (which would be the case of the Alienware one too tbh...)

I think it’s currently the best 34” OLED you can buy. Lots more features and extras compared with the now pretty old Dell model. Review and full comparison here :)

I'm heavily veering towards this bad boi now tbh. I was pretty much dead set on the Dell one, but I feel like it would be better to get this seeing as it's a newer panel too...

You may have missed it, but I created a thread on this exact monitor a a few weeks back after I purchased. In the thread I followed up with a mini review of sorts. Have a look at the thread here for everything;

I was just about to pull the trigger on the 341CQP as it's not much worse but a lot cheaper around here currently because of a BF deal but that damn stand won't fit on my desk and I don't want to use a VESA mount, why TF does it have to be so big...

I was measuring up myself and it's gonna be tight. Might go for the Asus glossy WOLED 16:9 monitor. That will fit in the space where my current monitor is perfectly...

If it was to stand flat on my desk it'd fit no problem but I have a sort of an enclosure I made that houses my audio inteface and my monitor goes on top of it. It's just not wide enough for those enormous legs of the MSI.

Alternatively, I was thinking about the LG 34gs95 which I think is the best looking ultrawide OLED on the market but it's got an 800R curve and a matte coating. It's 240hz with MLA+ (apparently). It's also only WOLED but I don't mind honestly, no annoying purple tint of QD-OLEDS and I trust them more when it comes to burn-in resistance. Look it up, maybe it'll strike your fancy.

Seems like it's very fairly priced for the spec. I owned an AW3423DW since release until last weekend and I have to say nothing else compares as a whole package although the pixel structure can make windows text look off (The MSI might be different) but that's a small price to pay considering the benefits.

Also once you go ultra wide you don't want to to go back to 16:9 so it's a double whammy!

Because of the stand issue I'm now thinking of going with either of these Asus ones:

Kind of veering towards the first one. The main reason really is the glossy screen, the reviews have been pretty banging. But it also depends on when the second one is actually going to be in stock and if the newer QD-OLED's actually improve text clarity in anyway.

I'm also unsure if the Freesync Premium Pro vs non Pro will make a difference? I will want to play in HDR as for me over say RT its a visual upgrade I really like and want to use. But the one that has Premium pro isn't glossy (semi glossy apparently) and I really want a glossy one! The alternative is I get the glossy one now. Enjoy it and when they release a QD-OLED 3rd gen with a glossy screen I like the look of move to that and sell the glossy WOLED.... :cry:

I'm also vibeing a lot with the general look of the ROG screens, I even like the little ROG chin at the bottom!
