In front of my monitor
As per thread title really.

I'm thinking of upgrading from my Asus PG278Q.

Fancy something bigger and have seen some interesting wide screen monitors of late.

So what say you all?

Stick with what I have or what would you suggest?

Got the same monitor as you and itching for an 34" curved ultrawide. Hoping the new Samsung quantum dot 34" gets a good review so I can get the following Gsync version. Going to wait till at least after Christmas to see if anything is announced (DP1.4 monitors hopefully).

But yeah, I feel your pain :D

Best

Wulf

Question is is the pg34 worth it or is the x34 better??

Hear what your saying with regards to the Samsung but with everything in the land of IT there is always somthing better round the corner, so you end up waiting more then playing haha!!!

Tbf the current UW monitors have been out for a year, I'd give it til just after Christmas and then we might get a clearer idea of what's on the horizon (but the X34a is a cracking choice imo) ;)

Depends if UWs are your thing or not - I've played around with a lot of monitors but nothing currently can replace the 2560x1440 @ 144Hz G-Sync panel for me (though when I do game I tend to play competitive/twitch games). I have an UW beside my gaming 1440p monitor as they are pretty decent (gives me the best of both worlds) but if I had to pick one it would be the 2560x1440@144Hz panel every time.

I was seriously considering an ultrawide but I play mainly FPS games and went for Asus PG279Q 27" 165hz IPS and soooo glad I did, 100hz just wouldn't be enough imo

Went from the original rog swift pg278q to an x34. The motion clarity and super response time of the TN rog swift isn't as good on the IPS x34, but all in all I love my x34 and it was well worth it. The Gsync etc is all the same but Superwide 34 inches, with a subtle curve rocks man. 21:9 is so much more cinematic and involving for gaming when you're sat close in front of a monitor.

Went from the tn swift to the ips 34" widescreen swift.

Mostly a great upgrade (where widescreen supported).

Negatives - big cost (£900 for the monitor), slower refresh 144 vs 100

Overall I'm glad I did it
