Right, my spec currently is a A64 3200+, 1GB RAM and 9800Pro with an Antec Trublue 450 watt PSU.

I don't play any games on my PC at all so haven't really needed to upgrade. However, lately I am doing a lot of video encoding and finding my PC is taking a fair amount of time to get it done.

Otherwise I use the PC for movies, music, word processing and net browsing.

I don't really wanna spend too much but how much would I need to spend to get a good boost in general performance and encoding, also would I need a new PSU baring in mind I don't need a powerful GFX card as I don't play games.

Cheers.

What is your budget here, something can certainly be specified but if you give a rough amount to aim for or under it would help. :)

//edit also does your video encoding package support quad core?

Erm £300-350 and honestly I wouldn't know, things like Nero Vision and ConvertXtoDVD is what I use mainly.

Going on the basis that your PSU is probably still ok then I'd go for something like the below system, the CPU might be overkill slightly but it is within budget. :)
