Hi All
I'm thinking of changing my ailing P42.2 for a nice new shuttle setup.
I fancy a SN26P,
I've got some SATA hard drives already
I'm thinking AMD X2 3800 and 2gb ram, but wonder what's the best price/performance point on the X2s, also are they quietly overlcockable in the shuttle?
I want to go SLI but i also want it to be pretty quiet for when i'm just web browsing/DVD watching - what would anyone reccomend?
Should i get one high end SLI card now and add another later?
for that matter is it worth getting one non-sli card? and a 25p?

Basicaly this'll be a do everything system :)

your oppinions are appreciated!

SN25P + high end graphics card.
Unless you use a monitor which supports 1920+ then forget it. Save the money and buy a better cpu or gfx. I think the cost difference between the 25P and 26P is shockin.
Id go with either the 165 or 170 in terms of cpu. the 170 should be able to get to 2.7ghz whilst still being cooled by the smart fan system which u cant hear.

Being an owner of BOTH the SN25P and the SN26P I would say that your better off getting a single-powerful-GPU and the SN25P.

Getting two slower GPUs and the SN26P would be very cost effective (not to mention loud) :eek:

Make sure you add in SATA cables, and set the BIOS to "ultra low" and you can't go wrong!!!

A single card wouldnt be quicker, but it would:
* Probably perform very closely
* Be cheaper
* Be cost efficient
* Be cooler

Unless you have an uber monitor, SLI is kinda pointless. The top end cards will give you full AA/AF at 1280x1024 in almost any game.
