I'm trying to decide between a Thinkpad L16 Gen 1, a Thinkbook 16 Gen 7 and an EliteBook 660 Gen 11. All 3 machines have virtually the same specs. The Thinkbook comes with a 2-year warranty, while the Thinkpad and EliteBook come with a 3-year warranty. The Thinkpad and EliteBook are the same price, while the Thinkbook is €350 cheaper. I will use the laptop for internet browsing, office applications and watching films. I don't plan to move the laptop around much, as it will spend most of its life on my desk. Which is the best option for me?

Be careful with the displays. The L16 can be fitted with a terrible display and it's not going to be great for general usage and definitely not for watching films.

Do any of them have a screen which is better than 1080p? Or optional upgrades when you configure them?
Sadly, all 3 models come with a 1080p display, 45% ntsc and 300 nits, so none of them has a great display. Not possible to upgrade any of them either.

Are you limited to choosing between these three laptops? I really wouldn't want a screen like that on anything but a cheap budget laptop. Fine for excel but not going to be very enjoyable for much else.

Yes, unfortunately I'm limited to these 3. Its very rare to find laptops with better screens here in Malta. My current fujitsu laptop's screen has the same specs and I find it good enough for films.

In that case I would suggest to go for the cheapest one. They should all cope very well with light work like internet browsing, office applications and watching films. Lenovo warranty is quite cheap so you could look at upgrading that too with some of the savings of the price of the laptop.
