Yes just make sure you take a settings backup with the standard firmware (if that's what you're on now) and if you need to change back you can the then reset and apply the config again.....

Can't see you going back really, I get better speeds on the 3rd party firmware as do a lot of people.... depends ... See how it goes.. ;)

Really? What went wrong?

I found it no different from any other official upgrade tbh. I even sent the link to my dad and got him to upgrade :) Maybe the file didn't download properly; I've had that before with graphics card drivers...
 
I just did the firmware upgrade as I've done before...and when I looked at the router the power light was flashing green then red.

I've tried the recovery utitlity but it was having none of it. The router didn't even appear in the list where it's supposed to.
