Third party GPU coolers, do I need ramsinks?

Look at replacing the stock cooler on my XFX 4850 1gb for something thats not only quieter but thermally better....

Question is do I need ramsinks and which coolers will allow enough room to fit ramsinks if I do?
 
Most 3rd party coolers come with their own ramsinks I think, or the ramsinks are part of the actual cooler itself.
