Third Party PS3 Controller Acting Strangely

I just got a Mad Catz Fps Pro, I needed a second ps3 pad and I got it for £20 in a deal (£30 rrp I believe).

In some games it acts weirdly and in Dust 514 it simply doesn't work. In Killzone 3 menu selection is difficult because the controller causes the menu's to "spaz out" and scroll left or right indefinetely.

In dust 514 I cannot control my character, he "stutters" and its the same for the view control. I have tested with my dual shock 3 and the game works perfectly with the dual shock.

In most games the controller works perfectly, as in battlefield 3, battlefield 1943, tekken tag tournament 2 and gran turismo 5.

However in more than a handful of games it acts oddly such as the killzone 3 issue, I have only experienced the controller not working altogether in dust 514. And as I understand it that game is in beta so it may be that third party controller support is not implemented yet...or something.

I tried searching for other people with problems with this pad but I couldn't find anyone with a malfunctioning pad in the way I've described. Is it possible I have a faulty pad as thats my thinking at the moment. In the games where it works perfectly the pad feels great, in battlefield 3 and gran turismo 5 for example.

tldr : my mad catz fps pro doesnt work properly/doesnt work at all in dust 514. anyone have some suggestions or do I just have a faulty pad, should I get another fps pro? Suggest a decent third party alternative to the dual shock 3 as the rrp of the DS3 is a bit much imo.

Thanks guys ;)

try new batterys and reset if possible.. if there's any programmable/macro buttons/settings; trying disabling them.

I hate 3rd party pads... 3rd party joysticks are different :)

Its a wireless rechargeable controller without a removable battery.

Do you mean reset the ps3? I have already tried restore default settings, I could do a format I suppose.

One thing I just tried was unplugging all the wireless devices from my PC and disconnecting my wireless router incase there was a conflict, but its still the same.

a lot of the third party controls have programmable features.. not sure if the one you have does, but if it does there be an option to reset/disable them.

Don't reset your ps3.
