Third SATA Drive

Hi,

I brought my Son the Proton Cobalt Mini ITX Gaming PC a year or so ago, it comes with 4 SATA ports, I have an SSD in one, and 1TB drive in the 2nd and i'm trying to add another 1TB Drive into the third.

When I plug the drive into SATA 3 and then boot the machine I can't get past the BIOS Splash Screen.

Does anyone know what the problem could be ?

Have you tried Sata 4 port ?

Yeah SATA4 seems to do the same.

Do you know what motherboard is installed in the pc?

Hi - Its the ASUS Z971 Plus - Mini ITX.

Does the system still boot with the new drive disconnected?

Can you get into BIOS itself? If so, are all three drives showing in the list of SATA devices?
