with the zalman i would go for the silver if the rest of your kit premits, might as well go for the E6300 as there nearly the same price i didnt notice much temp change with a overclock to 2.45Ghz and the psu is a bit noisy for a htpc i had to change the fan in mine its not so much as a loud noise but a clicking sound that comes from the fan when its at med setting (could have just been mine but iv heard other ppl talk about this with the 400w).
