Cheap Chinese Audio cable, 30pin to 3.5mm jack, brings up this message all the time.

BBC iPlayer ignores it, but 4OD stops playing :(
either way it is annoying.

So I'm looking for another cheap cable that does the same job but without the message. From a quick look on DX I've seen lots for Gen2 iPads, iPods and iPhones but none for Gen1 iPads?

The average docking stations are pointless as it needs to be viewed in landscape.

Just for info this is for a DIY amplifier rig I'm testing, the iPad is too quiet when I'm in the shower so I've added a small 15W amp and a 6x9 speaker.
I'd thought about using the headphone socket but I'm assuming the docking connector's line out is slightly better quality?

If you're running it through a 6x9 speaker in a bathroom I wouldn't be too concerned about any quality loss that comes with using the headphone jack.

I've got other speakers and amps so this is just a test to see what works well, I'm trying to not build in any issues if they can be avoided :)

Practically, a 30 pin is easier to slot a tablet into than the insertion force of a headphone socket. I'm also hoping to have other units for around the house so I need the basics working well.

It sounds OK so far given that the speaker isn't boxed yet, and a 6x9 nicely matches the dimensions of an iPad to make construction a little simpler.

Surely a 30 pin to 3.5mm just does what the circuit that provides the built in 3.5mm does.

And the 3.5mm will give perfectly fine sound quality.

The 30pin is line level, the headphone socket has some minor amplification to drive a set of headphones.
Yes the difference is marginal, the issue against using the headphone jack is a physical one (a docking connector is designed for low insertion force, a 3.5 isn't)

Anyway, does anyone know of a Gen1 iPad cable that doesn't have the stupid Apple warning?
I'm assuming it uses a resistor ID setup like the charging cable?
