This an ok driver uninstall procedure ?

Ok so i uninstall all ati using catalyst uninstall, reboot in to safe mode delete everything to do with ati from my system, run driver sweeper, reboot in to normal mode and install latest, reboot again and hey presto.
This seem ok ?

Because Catalyst uninstall did not delete all that is really needed for upgrading & has given you problems ?

catalyst uninstall, reboot normal, delete C:ATI all that is there is old expanded install setup files. Then install new drivers.

Because in CCC it said i was still running the 8.7's when infact i had 8.11.

Agreed . other way to uninstall is through the device manager

Try it the normal instead & not as you did in your first post.

i did try it the normal way first and it gave me errors, but then i uninstalled, deleted all ati stuff, rebooted in safe, ran driver sweeper, rebooted again and installed 8.11, performance seems to have rocketed and now properley shows i have 8.11's on, getting 200 fps in a non crowded area in WAR everything on full were before i was limping by on 30

I always do an Add/Remove on the drivers and the CCC, then a boot into safe-mode to run Driver Sweeper before booting normally to install new set, only takes seconds, and never had any probs at all doing it that way.

That,s the only time that i have ever had a problem was when i did that.

As most people don't have problems doing it the official it is best to use the official way until a problem arises like in your case & should not be the norm.

I have seen more people posting here with install problems who have been doing it your way than people who have not.

Wonder if its something to do with being on Vista, as it never fails for me on XP doing it that way.
